About
MATDOT Art Center is a unique art space situated in the heart of Bangkok Old Town founded in 2020 by Tawatchai Somkong, Editor-in-Chief of Fine Art Magazine. It is intended to garner a connection with the art community from artists to curators, collectors, students, and aficionados alike. Contained within three buildings are café, gallery, studios, meeting room, co-working space, office, and even an accommodation quarter that is open to artist-in-residence. It is a space for people to gather and create, but is not limited to just the local community, it extends to the international community as well.
Besides the expertly curated works of art which are immersed in every corner of the premises, MATDOT Art Center also houses two exhibition rooms: the Blacklist Gallery showcases the works of local and international artists by invitation to promote an exchange of diverse knowledge; and the Matdot Gallery displays the works of the artist in residence.
MATDOT’s Board Committees
Our board of committees is made up of a group of accomplished professionals from various fields such as arts, culture, business, and academia. The board is responsible for providing strategic guidance to the organization, offering expertise and insights on matters ranging from policy to operations. Their input and advice are essential in shaping the vision, mission, and direction of MATDOT Art Center. Members of the advisory board are selected based on their experience, skills, and achievements in their respective fields, as well as their commitment to advancing the arts and culture scene in Thailand and beyond.
