Sarana Wiriyaprasit graduated from the Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University in 2014. His personal interest in art history and contemporary art urged him to apply for the position of writer at Fine Art Magazine, Thailand. Sarana has been writing art criticism for Fine Art Magazine and ART SQUARE magazine since 2016, and he has also co-written and edited a number of art books, including ‘OCAC’s Art Collection’ (2019), ‘Silpathorn Awards’ (2018–2021), and catalogues for many art exhibitions. Sarana Wiriyaprasit is the author of ‘Colour and Space’ (2019), a book that compiles the biography and works of a national artist, Somsak Chowtadapong.
Having met and interacted with artists and people in the art circle for several years, as well as attending many art exhibitions both in Thailand and internationally, has led Sarana to have a broad visual in esthetic and arts. He worked as a curatorial assistant for the Thai Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, Italy in 2019 and the Pimarntip International Pavilion at the 2nd Thailand Biennale, Korat 2021. In 2023, he had a chance to curate his first exhibition Constructive Interference—featured three Thai artists—at MATDOT Art Center.
