MATDOT Art Center is pleased to present a solo flute recital by German flautist Lena Seitz, an internationally acclaimed performer whose artistic practice bridges classical tradition, contemporary music, and interdisciplinary performance. Taking place on 18 August 2026 at 14:00, the recital offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience the expressive breadth of the solo flute through the artistry of one of Europe’s emerging musicians.

Presented as a carefully curated programme, the recital explores the rich and colourful world of flute literature across centuries. Beginning with the elegant Baroque soundscapes of Georg Philipp Telemann and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, the programme moves through the fiery virtuosity of Sigfrid Karg-Elert, before venturing into emotionally charged contemporary solo works and the vibrant rhythmic traditions of Tango and Flamenco. Traversing diverse musical periods and cultures, the performance highlights both the remarkable versatility of the instrument and the emotional depth of its repertoire.

Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, Lena Seitz has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia, appearing with leading orchestras and contemporary music ensembles while developing innovative concert formats that connect music with wider social and cultural dialogue. This august,  she is undertaking an artist residency at MATDOT Art Center alongside a guest lectureship in Thailand.
