MATDOT Art Center is pleased to present the Open Studio of Austrian artist Julia Bugram. The event forms part of Bugram’s residency at MATDOT (January–February 2026) and marks the first official open studio event hosted by MATDOT.

Julia Bugram is a contemporary artist whose practice spans drawing, installation, and socially engaged art. Working at the intersection of art and socio-political discourse, her work explores themes of personal and collective memory, feminism, solidarity, and collective action. Bugram is actively involved in feminist art networks and initiatives, and her practice is characterised by participatory approaches that foreground dialogue, care, and shared experience.

This Open Studio offers visitors a rare opportunity to step inside the artist’s working environment and encounter her practice as it unfolds in real time. Throughout the three days, Bugram will be present in the studio, working as usual and engaging openly with visitors. Audiences are invited to explore her artistic processes up close, with particular attention to a new body of work developed during her residency in Bangkok.

“Open Studio: Julia Bugram” is taking place from 12–14 February 2026, 10:00–18:00 hours, at Studio 3. Admission is free of charge, and no appointment is required. All visitors are warmly welcome.
