MATDOT Art center, a brand new art space at the heart of Bangkok’s old town, kicked off its soft-opening night with the art exhibition “POST-COVID”. The group exhibition featured 18 Thai and Foreign artists, who expressed their creativity with the 2020 global pandemic through the works of art.
November 12, 2020, marked the day of celebration and launch of MATDOT Art Center, as a small but meaningful and pro-active component of the art community. We aim to provide a rich space for every art-related activity, like our first official exhibition, the POST-COVID.
As 2020 going to end in less than two months, Thailand is one of a few nations that appear to have mostly controlled the virus. The reported infection rate is staying low for quite some time, as the new infection only coming from outside. The POST-COVID explores these tough times everyone has faced. Each artist shows his own interests and opinions in a variety of technic and narratives. The exhibition was curated by Tawatchai Somkong, who is also the founder and director of MATDOT Art Center. The opening reception was presided over by Dr. Vimolluck Chuchat, director-general of the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition is on view until December 30, 2020, at MATDOT Art Center.
