Growing Together: Ark Fongsmut Shares Curatorial Expertise

On March 5, 2024, MATDOT Art Center hosted a thought-provoking “Curator Talk” featuring Ark Fongsmut, a leading figure in Thailand’s contemporary art scene. Fongsmut, a lecturer at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and founder of an international program on creative and curatorial studies, discussed “Growing Together.”

Drawing from his nearly 20 years of experience collaborating with artists, Fongsmut emphasized the importance of strong curatorial practices in crafting meaningful contemporary art exhibitions. He highlighted the value of deep engagement with artistic concepts, fostering a dynamic exchange between curators and artists.

The event attracted a diverse audience of students, artists, educators, and art enthusiasts, culminating in a lively post-talk discussion. Marking a significant milestone, this event served as the first-ever curator talk hosted by MATDOT Art Center. Looking ahead, the Center aims to offer similar enriching experiences to the public.
