Things Occupying Space
Solo exhibition by Jun.GK
The artist believes that societal norms and concepts prescribed by society deeply permeate all aspects of our lives. He views the forces dominating social spaces as intangible and invisible powers—customs, perceptions, procedures—that are socially sanctioned. Consequently, he sees the complex structure of society as greatly influencing individual behavior and relationship dynamics. He also believes this transformation affects human interactions.
Through this project, the artist aims to explore and demonstrate the impact of various factors dominating social spaces on his own identity within his social context. He seeks to share, through original creations, what meaning these elements hold for our lives from his unique perspective, and also provide opportunities for reflection.

Jun.GK has consistently worked with glass throughout his artistic career, and excluding the nature of glass from his work seems inevitable. However, he views glass merely as an inherent property. When he initially studied art, his choices were limited to clay and glass, and he selected glass as it offered a higher potential for leaving his distinctive mark as an artist. This is why he avoids being labeled as a glass artist or a glass craftsman.
