On 20 March 2025, students from the School of Integrated Innovation, Chulalongkorn University, embarked on a dynamic field study trip as part of their Form and Function: Exploring Aesthetics, Architecture, and Industrial Design course. Led by Dr. Preechaya Sittipunt, the group visited MATDOT Art Center, where they engaged in an unconventional hands-on activity—creating costumes and jewellery using balloon modelling.

The workshop encouraged students to experiment with various techniques, styles, and colours, transforming simple materials into imaginative wearable art. The vibrant session not only fostered creativity but also challenged students to think innovatively about design and presentation.

Dr. Preechaya selected the venue to provide students with a refreshing learning environment beyond the traditional classroom. Changing the atmosphere can stimulate new ideas and perspectives, which is crucial for design and innovation.

The experience brought excitement and inspiration to the students, who worked collaboratively to explore the artistic potential of everyday materials. By integrating fun with learning, the initiative underscored the importance of hands-on experimentation in design education.
