On 16 December 2024, art enthusiasts gathered for the grand opening of two solo exhibitions at MATDOT Art Center: Dinosaur Correcting by Rossalin Garst and Pattern, Colour, Space by Al Munro.
Dinosaur Correcting featured a captivating mixed media installation inspired by Rossalin Garst’s three-decade career as a university lecturer, mentoring generations of art students. The works reflected her personal journey and experiences in the world of academia, offering a profound commentary on teaching and creative development.
Meanwhile, Pattern, Colour, Space showcased Al Munro’s vibrant paintings on canvas and paper, merging traditional Thai textile motifs with geometric forms. Munro’s dynamic pieces were the culmination of her two-month residency at MATDOT, blending cultural and contemporary influences to stunning effect.
