Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, flutist Lena Seitz has established a dynamic international career defined by a rich fluidity between orchestral playing, chamber music, solo performance, and a deep dedication to contemporary music. Her artistic journey has taken her through major European cultural hubs, having studied in Lübeck, Paris, and Barcelona, and she is currently pursuing her highest artistic degree (Solo Performance) in Switzerland under Professor Pirmin Grehl.

Lena’s versatile musicianship is reflected in her diverse orchestral achievements and solo recognitions. She has been awarded various prizes, including the Hermann-Levi Award, the First Prize of the Händel Society of Karlsruhe, the First Prize at the ENKOR Competition, and a special award at the Possehlpreis for innovative musical interpretation concepts. In 2023, she performed under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach and Michael Sanderling as a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra. Since November 2024, she serves as a permanent temporary staff member of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, regularly guests at the prestigious Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, and recently performed as an academist at the Mecklenburg State Theatre in Schwerin. As an active concert artist, her music regularly takes her to performances across Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland and Thailand.

Driven by an irrepressible urge to connect music with socio-political dialogue, Lena designed unique, interdisciplinary concert formats like “Klimakrise.diesseits” or “The Woman in Art.” Her profound passion for contemporary music has led to collaborations with the renowned Ensemble Recherche and performances at festivals such as the Frequenz Festival Kiel and the International PGVIM Symposium in Bangkok. In August 2026, her global path brings her back to Thailand for a guest lectureship at Payap University in Chiang Mai and an artist residency at the MATDOT Art Center in Bangkok.

“For me, making art stems from an irrepressible urge to express the innermost parts of the experience of being alive. In a fast-paced world that increasingly encourages us to numb ourselves and unlearn how to truly feel, I see art as a vital space to reconnect. Whether it is reading a poem that deeply touches you, looking at a painting that captivates your soul, or hearing sound waves that resonate within you—it is all about the transformative power of feeling deeply.

My goal is to speak directly to people through sound. By rawly expressing emotions on stage, I hope to touch something within the listeners and make it vibrate. I wish for all of us to find more courage to be vulnerable and to truly show ourselves.

I deeply believe that art possesses a profound power to heal. No matter the genre or the setting, the core purpose remains the same: to touch the hidden corners of the soul, spark reflection, and create a space of shared, authentic humanity.”
