Yang Tzu-Hsing

Born in 1985 in Tainan, Taiwan. Hsing is a textile-pattern designer and the fourth-generation director of Tainan’s 101-year-old fabric store “Gimgoanheng (since 1923).” He is a designer who used to work for different project such as graphic, interior, product and costume design.

In recent years, Hsing’s design works have won some design awards such as Red Dot, iF, Golden Pin, Successful Design, pentawards… etc. Due to self career planning, Hsing returned to his hometown Tainan in 2020 and transformed the family’s fabric business “Gimgoanheng” into a brand that focusing on textile-pattern design and local cultural promotion. He transformed different Taiwanese culture such as Plaque, Mullet Roe, Stool…into vivid fabric designs, and made the works not only in art but also produce product for daily used.

These years, Hsing’s pattern designs used to collaborate and co-brand with famous brand in Taiwan, such as 7-11(OPEN!), China Airline, HOLA, EasyCard, books.com…etc. In 2020, Hsing also founded Gimgoanheng gallery which is a showroom for different artist/designer to display their works, and also keep publishing Gimgoanheng art issue. Continue to promote the innovation between Taiwanese culture and fabric design.
