As a thesis advisor, Rossalin faced challenges stemming from her students’ academic writing skills, despite their exceptional artistic abilities. She devoted countless hours to improving their work, especially in refining their language to meet academic standards. However, even with repeated guidance, her students continued to make the same mistakes. Remarkably, they accepted corrections with resilience and even humour, endearing themselves to Rossalin despite her frustration and fatigue.
Over time, Rossalin likened her role to that of a “dinosaur correcting”, symbolising the dedication of senior educators. The installation features pages from academic reports marked with extensive handwritten corrections, reflecting the struggles of students and the tireless efforts of advisors. The work captures the enduring relationship between teacher and student, built on patience and growth.
