Inception

Inception marks a pivotal moment in the evolving practice of Pathomporn Pathomporn, widely known as Pry—a figure whose artistic journey has long intertwined music, performance, and existential inquiry. Emerging from a career defined by boundary-breaking gestures, Pry has spent decades transforming personal turmoil into resonant artistic languages. His early work challenged conventions through music and ritualistic performance, dissolving the distance between artist and audience and positioning the body as a site of philosophical reflection.

In this new chapter, Pathomporn extends his practice into a multidisciplinary constellation of collaborations and solo visual works. Inception brings together musicians, visual artists, and performers in a series of encounters that mirror the intertwined forces of intimacy, longing, and introspection found throughout his writing. The project is guided by the emotional terrain articulated in his poetic statement—a meditation on love, loneliness, and endurance beneath a vast cosmos, where human fragility becomes inseparable from wonder.

Here, collaboration becomes not only a method but a metaphor: a movement from one edge of the sky to another, an act of carrying messages across inner and outer distances. Pathomporn’s new visual works echo his longstanding engagement with the body and psyche, translating gestures of vulnerability into forms that contemplate the passage of time, the persistence of memory, and the unresolved questions that accompany a life lived in artistic exposure.

Presented at MATDOT Art Center at the turning of the year, Inception signifies both an arrival and a beginning—a reorientation of his creative path and a reaffirmation of art as a vessel for emotional truth. Through this project, Pathomporn invites viewers into a shared space of reflection, where darkness and tenderness coexist, and where the endurance of the human spirit quietly unfolds.
