For Chatchai Phojjanaporn, travel is more than reaching a destination — it is a process of self-discovery. He has long viewed each journey as a chance to step beyond his comfort zone to encounter the unfamiliar, and reflect on the meaning of life.

While Chatchai began documenting his travels through photography, he felt that images alone could not capture the full emotional depth of his experiences. This realisation led him to painting, a more expressive medium — the one that could convey not only what he had seen, but also what he had felt along the way.

This series of white ink drawings on dark canvas represents “landscapes of the mind”: semi-abstract impressions of places, memories, and fleeting moments experienced during years of his travel. Each piece combines detailed linework with expressive strokes, evoking both the physical and emotional movement of a journey.

A businessman with a deep passion for art, Chatchai Phojjanaporn began by photographing the places he visited during his travels, later transforming those memories into expressive works on paper. Although he is not formally trained in art, he views the creative process as both a form of meditation and a free-flowing release of imagination. This perspective led him to dedicate himself to developing his drawing skills independently, resulting in emotionally resonant works that capture the essence of his inner journeys with remarkable depth.
