In Core of Crisis, Tawatchai Somkong moves beyond his earlier utopian reflections to confront the instability of the modern world. The series emerges from his growing awareness of global disarray—environmental imbalance, social tension, and moral uncertainty. Here, Tawatchai revisits the symbolic language that has long defined his practice—forms of birth, motion, and transformation—but now reconfigures them to express disturbance and disequilibrium. The works juxtapose balance and collapse, revealing how the same forces that generate life can also incite destruction. Through layers of organic abstraction, the artist visualises the world as an interconnected system in flux, where every action triggers unseen consequences.

Tawatchai interprets crisis not merely as catastrophe but as a state of transition—a threshold between disintegration and renewal. His use of form and symbol suggests that within chaos lies the seed of evolution. The Core of Crisis series thus reflects a philosophical meditation on humanity’s entanglement with nature and society: we are both the cause and the witness of imbalance. Rather than offering solutions, Tawatchai invites contemplation, urging viewers to perceive crisis as an opportunity for awareness.
