Searching in Mind
Solo exhibition by Palut Marod
A world that is fully immersed in globalization and consumerism like today is also experiencing a rapid suppression of individuality whereby people are more interested in physical stimulations rather than looking within to evaluate their state of mind. It is inevitable that one’s inner state craves the ability to connect and harmonize with one’s environmental aspects, which lends to the determination of reality, as well as the conception of positive attitudes with oneself and the world around.
An awareness of this contemporary social phenomenon together with a personal interest in the science of mindfulness which gives balance to life, prompted Palut Marod to create this impressive series of paintings. Taking note of his artistic approach in hindsight, he charted the essence of his creativity in form and content and coalesced them with the principles of Buddhism, thus creating these surreal paintings full of surprising symbolic expressions.
These immense artworks are imbued by an abundance of tiny details silently waiting to be interpreted by viewers. It is not just a story that the works communicate, but also the soul, personal identity, and intellect of the artist that are concealed within the vivid colors and intricate symbols.
