On 26 August 2024, MATDOT Art Center hosted the opening event for the new exhibition “FROM 8 TO INFINITY,” curated by Sarana Wiriyaprasit. This unique exhibition brings together three artists-in-residence from different countries: Trinnapat Chaisitthisak (Thailand), Carlos Delgado (USA), and Paolo Gatti (Italy).
The trio collaborated to present their work through three distinct art forms: painting, moving images, and music. Together, they deliver site-specific installations that utilise the context of MATDOT as a symbolic metaphor, crafting an immersive audio-visual experience that explores significant global issues.
The event commenced with a talk session led by the curator and the artists, offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process. The discussion delved into how each artist developed their ideas and realised them within the exhibition’s framework. This session was particularly insightful for those interested in understanding the curatorial process and the creation of the artwork.
Following the talk, the curator officially opened the exhibition, expressing gratitude to the artists and the audience. Attendees, including art scholars, students, and enthusiasts, were then invited to experience the installations and engage in a lively discussion with the artists, making for a memorable evening.
