On October 7, 2024, MATDOT Art Center hosted the opening event of its latest exhibitions, “Open Ocean” and “Ka-Meow-Sutra.”

“Open Ocean,” a collection of abstract and semi-abstract paintings by American artist Peter Holden, showcased the artist’s diverse experiences from his travels across the globe, including United States, Mexico, and Thailand. Holden’s works offer a glimpse into his personal journey and reflections on life.

Meanwhile, “Ka-Meow-Sutra” featured a unique series of 64 paintings by Thai-Chinese artist Nawat Lertsawaengkit. Inspired by the ancient Indian text, the Kama Sutra, Nawat’s artwork depicts the sexual encounters of hundreds of neon cats. These playful and provocative pieces explore the complex themes of happiness, desire, and human connection.

The opening ceremony was attended by art enthusiasts and collectors alike, who had the opportunity to meet the artists and learn more about their work. The evening was filled with lively discussions, music, and refreshments, providing a memorable experience for all.
