On 3 November 2025, MATDOT Art Center held a warm and lively opening reception for its two new exhibitions, Matter Life & Geometrical Explorations and In Layers. The event drew a diverse crowd of visitors, including art enthusiasts, collectors, and students, who gathered to celebrate the launch and engage directly with the exhibiting artists.
Matter Life & Geometrical Explorations presents the latest abstract works by MATDOT’s current artist-in-residence, Santiago Zarzosa. A European-born, American artist, Zarzosa introduces two interconnected bodies of work that investigate the delicate balance between structure and spontaneity, geometry and gravity, intuition and control. Developed over the past year and further refined during his residency at MATDOT, the series reflects his ongoing dialogue between the physical and the inner realms.
In In Layers, Thai artist Malee Naree invites viewers on a contemplative journey into the emotional strata of the self. Each painting becomes a quiet window into the mind, revealing its shifting light and shade, tenderness and tension, fragility and concealed desires. Her works offer an intimate study of inner landscapes shaped by memory, feeling, and introspection.
The opening evening was filled with lively conversation as guests engaged the artists in thoughtful discussions about their creative processes. Both exhibitions are open to the public, free of charge, and will remain on view until the end of November.
